Confused About What Supplements You Should Be Taking? I Suggest The Core 4

As a researcher, clinician, and speaker on the topic; when it comes to supplements, I get asked a lot of questions. I see so many people taking supplements without really understanding why they are taking them, or if the science is even there to back it up.  People hear on the news, read an article, or hear about a fad, which leads them to dive in looking for the next magic cure.

I hope to clear up some of that confusion.  One of the questions I get asked most often is, “what should I be taking as a foundation for health optimization and disease prevention?”  I suggest what I call the Core 4, that allows you to round out your health profile and take a clear step towards healthier YOU.

While there are many additional supplements that I could recommend,  the Core 4 is a simple no nonsense approach to supplementing that removes the confusion of what to be taking for optimizing your health.  After working with thousands of patients over the years, I believe the Core 4 is the foundation for any supplement routine.  Let’s jump in to some of the key research and bullet points so you can effectively achieve the level of health you deserve.

The first one is a unique blend I call Vitamin D Longevity.  It’s my favorite of the essentials you need because it’s crucial in cancer prevention, reducing pain, and promoting heart health and proper brain function.  The Longevity is a special blend with vitamin K to help with proper assimilation in protecting bone health and immune function.  If your Vitamin D levels are above 40ng/ml you can reduce your risk of all cancers combined by up to a theoretical 77%.  It is abundantly clear in scientific literature that you must be taking Vitamin D in the right amount.  I suggest that you take 5,000iu in the summer and 10,000iu in the winter. Overall it is easier to take a daily Vitamin D Longevity than to drink 10 glasses of milk each day to get the same amount.

The second is Clinical Omega Concentrate.  This blend is the appropriate ratio of EPA/DHA in the triglyceride form, which has been shown to have superior absorb-ability by up to 12-15 times faster than other forms.  Research  shows that it can be beneficial to everything from skin and hair health, to eye health and even brain development.  It is also a powerful and natural supplement that has been shown to reduce acute and chronic pain in addition to reducing overall inflammation in the body to slow the aging process.  I suggest taking 2-4 capsules per day.  Our blend is 100% sourced from certified, sustainable, U.S. caught wild fish and carries the prestigious Marine Stewardship Council Eco label certification.

Third is Clinical Magnesium Complete.  Women need to pay special attention to this one. Magnesium plays a vital role in over 500 important chemical reactions in your body.  It plays a hand in everything from preventing osteoporosis, and keeping your bones healthy, to proper digestion and cellular function.  Men, this is important for you as well.  Some off the shelf brands sold in stores are less than tolerable and can cause diarrhea.  Many people get enough calcium, but 60% of adults are deficient in the mineral magnesium unless they are taking a quality supplement.  Magnesium is crucial for overall health and reducing inflammation. Remember that every organ in your body, especially the heart, muscles, and kidneys need proper magnesium in the absorb-able form.

Last but not least, is the Clinical Complete Multi.  I have found that a well digested form is essential for you to fill in the gaps of any potential micro-nutrient deficiencies. Even people who eat the best of diets full of colorful organic vegetables, can still be lacking in their mineral and vitamin profile.  Additionally, it has supportive nutrients not typically found in a multi-vitamin such as alpha lipoic acid, bioflavonoids, and other anti-inflammatory compounds.  It also has more absorb-able form of folate.

As a final tip, just like brushing your teeth or any other healthy habit, starting today and developing and easy routine is one of the best ways to ensure long term health.  Order now, so you can start making a healthy habit today.

Here’s to making the rest of your years, the best of your years.

  1. I love how you simplified this! I am a health coach trying to get the word out about disease prevention vs. reaction. I have been on my own health journey for over 13 years trying to understand the role of genetics in my family’s long history of heart disease. I have finally gotten to where I feel comfortable about the answers. I wish I had this information when I stared my journey…I would be so much farther along.
My desire is to now help others shorten this process! Ironically, I am preparing a speech, and the information you have shared will be quite helpful. Thanks
