Many people are overfed and undernourished. Meaning, they take in too many calories without enough nutrients. The key is to eat eat nutrient dense foods low on the glycemic index, with every meal. They are full of vitamins and minerals and contain many natural anti-oxidants. Research also shows an increasingly recognized number of compounds and anti-inflammatory benefits from specific plants including; chemicals found in plants that help reduce inflammation and offer protection from sunburn and free radical damage, aging, chronic pain, arthritis, disc herniation and aid in lowering cholesterol. The key is to focus on as many colorful varieties of vegetables with occasional fruit as possible.
